One Client With Many Addresses: Why It Matters for Handymen

Separate Clients Cause Chaos

It's tempting to add each rental as its own client because that's how work orders arrive. Twelve clients for one manager means twelve histories, twelve invoices a month and no single view of the account.

One Record, Every Property

With one client and twelve addresses, you can see the whole account at once: how much work you did this year, which properties take the most visits and what's open right now.

On the Map

Every address is a pin on the map. When a work order comes in for one rental, you can see whether another of the manager's properties needs something nearby and do both on one trip.

Statements

Monthly statements combine every address into one bill, each line labeled. That's the bill managers ask for, and you can only produce it if the addresses live under one client.

Owners Within a Portfolio

Managers often run properties for several owners. Use tags or custom fields on each address to note the owner, so you can answer "how much did we spend on Mr. Patel's houses this year" without a spreadsheet.

Fixing It Later Is Painful

If you've already created separate clients, merge them early. Two records for the same customer cause confusion with history, pins and billing.
