Importing Your Customer List Into Handyman Software
You Already Have a Customer List
Even if it's a phone's contacts and a spreadsheet, you already have customers. Getting them in on day one means your first texts, estimates and invoices go to the right people.
What to Bring Over
- Name, phone and email.
- Service address, and billing address if different.
- Notes like gate codes and pets.
- Tags such as Rental, Property Manager or VIP.
CSV Import
HandymanBossPro imports customers from a CSV file, and there are importers for some common systems' exports. Imported addresses are placed on the map automatically, so the Waiting List map works from the start.
Clean Up First
Before you import, remove duplicates and fix obvious typos in addresses. Two records for the same customer cause the most confusion later: two sets of history, two invoices, two pins.
Landlords and Property Managers
For a manager with many rentals, import one client with many addresses, not one client per house. That's what lets you send one monthly statement.
